Begin Again: Costa Rica 2023

January 9th-15th

We will begin the year by heading back to Costa Rica, to the Provincia de Puntarenas on the very Southern tip of the Osa Peninsula, one of the most biodiverse and ecologically rich places in the world. We will immerse ourselves in both our yoga and meditation practices, and in the richness and beauty of our surroundings. Costa Rica, by its very nature invites us to slow down, and take time to connect with the inner and outer world from a place of presence and care. The experience of retreat provides a much needed rest from the habitual patterns of our daily lives. We get to pause. We get to listen. We get to tune into that one small quiet voice that knows, and yet is so often drowned out. We get to make new friends. We get to feel into our hearts and connect with our deepest wisdom and quiet longings. Off the beaten path, right next to the ocean, this retreat center is very special, and I feel so lucky to have secured these dates for our community. Check out where we are going here.

This retreat is all inclusive. You will practice meditation, some writing, and yoga with Audra each day, and enjoy three meals that will be prepared by Boca Sombrero’s highly trained chefs and kitchen staff. They provide a blend of delicious and healthy cuisine that is sourced from local farmers. All meals are included, and the cuisine is light and delicious with an emphasis on fresh produce. Throughout the day coffee, tea, juice and fruits are also available. The daily meal plan generally includes a selection of fruits, granola, and yogurt before the morning yoga class, a big brunch afterwards, a light lunch and a buffet dinner. The kitchen is prepared to accommodate all of our dietary restrictions.

This is where I, (Audra), am staying. It will be such a sweet gift to have a little house all to myself for a week.
An affordable way to have your own place, or team up with a bestie or lover.

These charming, small, wood and bamboo structures can accommodate 1 – 2 people. Each structure has an 8 x 8 square foot tent on a platform with a covered porch with two soft bench seats for relaxing. The porch is equipped with a light. Here you share your toilet and sink with others in tents (three tents max per toilet and sink). Each tent has its own private shower. The toilet and sink is a short walk from your tent (~15 yards). The platforms were designed to immerse you in the jungle and provide you with privacy. Each tent has two comfortable, twin bed mattresses or one full bed supplied with fresh cotton linens. All tents have two small (6 inch) fans, and are 100% bug proof.

Casa Troya

A sweet little home with just a few people.

Casa Troya is the latest addition to our beach-front villas. It’s the smallest of our three houses at Boca Sombrero and has unique architecture and artistic flair. This incredibly beautiful bamboo and thatch-roof structure was designed and built in 2009 by German artist Marc Hübner. The house has two small bedrooms next to each other on the first floor and the kitchen is located in the center of the ground floor living area. Casa Troya is the closest of our three villas to the surf beach.
